Same Tactics, Different Party?

Some Republicans in the so-called “lame duck” Congress are voicing complaints that present party leadership is attempting to “squeeze” through an omnibus spending bill, to the inexcusably ridiculous tune of $1+ trillion (!), by revealing it mere days before current funding resolutions expire. The reported intent is to limit reading (and criticism/amending) of the bill prior to posting it for a full floor vote.

So much for Republicans standing for less government spending. It sure seems like we have seen this song and dance before. The more things change, the more they appear to stay the same.

I wonder if the folks who claim to loathe authoritarianism under Democrats will stand up and put truth to words when Republican authoritarianism rears its head, as history strongly suggests is extremely likely?
